Raleigh United Methodist Church was the host church for the Metro UMW District Meeting held from 10 am-12 noon on Saturday, October 21, 2017. There were 20+ tables set up in the fellowship hall to display the different churches and agencies in the Metro District’s special projects and work of their United Methodist Women’s groups. Included were displays from the Golden Cross, Methodist Hospital Auxiliary, Metro District Team and Church Women United. This was a fun day to have fellowship with other UMW members of the district. Special thanks to all the Raleigh UMW members and the District Mission Team for providing the wonderful brunch foods. It was a great day!!
The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

This group of ladies works on sewing projects during the year which are given to hospitals, nursing homes, and school. Donated materials are used to produce such items as pillow, children's dresses, school bags, lap throws, Alzheimer's aprons, tray favors, etc. Sewing experience is not required, just the ability to enjoy working with others.
All circles come together six times during the year for special programming and business, as well as food and fellowship.
